Description

BILA is a Caustic Hardcore/Noise Punk band known for high-octane, socially and humor-charged bursts of energy delivered in visceral, rage-fueled Maltese lyrics.

The trio formed in late 2014 and released their debut EP Liba on cassette with Youth of Today, a small label from Venice, which was later re-released digitally by Malta-based KEWN Records. This led to tours in Malta and Italy, particularly Venice, in 2015. BILA has performed at various venues across Malta and festivals such as Rock the South Malta and Sickfest. They were invited to play at the ‘Malta Takes London’ event in both 2016 and 2017 at Proud Camden and Blundell Studios, respectively.

In June 2018, they released their first 7" record, Do What I Want, on Canadian imprint Kingfisher Bluez and KEWN Records to critical success. Later that year, they released the EP Bestjarju on KEWN Records and embarked on multiple live shows, including a mini tour in the UK in February 2019.

In 2018, they also supported Kaiser Chiefs at the Aria Club, Malta. By late 2019, BILA toured the American Midwest alongside Illinois-based post-metal band Staghorn to promote their EP Deheb, Inċens u BILA. In 2024, the band is preparing for the release of a brand-new album.
