Nadine Axisa’s latest album, Il-Hoss tal-Ghabex presents Maltese tunes published in the 1970s and 80s.
These numbers were taken through a process of re-imagination, a journey involving experimentation from a melodic, harmonic, rhythmic and sonic perspective. The album incorporates elements of electronic music, with a final product oriented towards a contemporary jazz style.
These melodies, that have now become Maltese classics, are being presented in a new light; providing the opportunity to create a fresh sound in the local jazz scene.
The APS Summer Festival is produced by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and the Valletta Cruise Port and supported by the Malta Tourism Authority, StudioSeven, Embassy Cinemas and Island Insurance Brokers.
