Description

Want to make electronic music but don’t know where to start? Start here!

Led by Maltese musicians Rebecca Theuma and Daphne Sammut, this workshop is chiefly aimed at women and gender-diverse participants (to continue making electronic music in Malta a more diverse space), but anyone is welcome.

Anyone who is curious to make that leap into making their own music is welcome!

Led by Maltese musicians Rebecca Theuma and Daphne Sammut, this workshop is aimed towards anyone and everyone.

This hands-on session will cover the basics of Ableton Live, providing attendees with the skills to start crafting their own musical ideas, using Ableton Live or other music software of their choosing.

Participants are required to bring their own laptops equipped with a trial or licensed version of Ableton Live. A free 30-day trial of Ableton Live 12 Suite can be downloaded from here.

Rebecca Theuma lives in Berlin and makes music as That BB, tethering between techno and trance. She is also known for her previous solo project Hearts Beating in Time, blending echoey vocals and moving beats.

Daphne Sammut performs under the moniker Dafne. She creates techno-infused soundscapes and specialises in blending audio and visual synthesis, building organic, trippy grooves.

Together, Theuma and Sammut will guide participants through the initial steps of music production, fostering a creative space where beginners can start transforming their musical ideas into reality.

A prep pack will be sent ahead of your participation in the programme.
