AKSHARA - ALBUM LAUNCH

Benji Cachia, aka Banjo Rancho, launches his first solo album entitled "AKSHARA". This live musical performance will also feature local guest artists from different art forms to capture the full experience of AKSHARA. It promises to be an eclectic and legendary one highlighting local talent at its best. After years of touring and working collaboratively, Benji decided it was time to pursue yet another new chapter in his musical career - diving into the musical world as a solo performer. Having always been passionate and inspired by music and traditional instruments from all around the world, he was driven to bring all these experiences together. This was the inspiration of this album, “AKSHARA”.

This album is a compilation of different aspects of his musical journey - a mosaic of his studies and practice. It includes different instruments and cultural formalities & ideologies from around the world that he has carefully brought together into creating his own sounds. The album is filled with rhythms amalgamating from a variety of instruments - traditional, modern, percussive, melodic and home-made instruments. The additional use of live effects and after-effects brings an overall cinematic sound to the album.

Main instruments used on the album include:

Drums, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Tabla, Darbuka, Frame Drum, Cajon, Aqua Drum, Benjicordofone (Home-made Instrument), Balafon, Tanbur (Maltese Drum), Keyboard, Percussion, Voices & Other Assorted Instruments.
