Description
Join us for the First Ever Dementia Care Symposium, an immersive event designed to inspire, inform, and ignite change in dementia care. This symposium offers a comprehensive look at global perspectives, groundbreaking innovations, and compassionate caregiving strategies that are shaping the future of dementia care.
The day begins with a keynote address delivered by a distinguished international guest speaker that provides a global view of dementia care, highlighting the importance of international collaboration and strategies to overcome the growing challenges of dementia.
Following the keynote, the Innovation in Dementia Care session will explore cutting-edge initiatives transforming the field. From brain health clinics focusing on early detection to the Care4Elders project, a European program promoting best practices, attendees will gain insight into pioneering approaches aimed at improving quality of life for those living with dementia. Additionally, we will also delve into the importance of cognitive stimulating activities, followed by a dynamic panel discussion examining real-world applications of these innovative strategies.
After a brief coffee break, the symposium will turn to Autonomy and Compassion in Dementia Care, exploring the delicate balance between preserving autonomy and delivering compassionate care. Learn about maintaining functionality through meaningful activities, the role of mental capacity in care decisions, and hear about a study which explored valuable insights from individuals with dementia themselves. The session will include another panel discussion, emphasizing the lived experiences of those impacted by dementia and the importance of both autonomy and compassion.
The event will also feature a powerful Caregiver Experience panel, where real-life caregivers will share their personal stories, providing a deeper understanding of the challenges and rewards they face, and the strategies they use to provide effective care.
The event will conclude with an awards ceremony recognizing exceptional contributions to dementia care, honoring individuals who have made a meaningful impact. Following the ceremony, attendees will have the opportunity to network and enjoy a lunch together, fostering further discussions and collaboration.
Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a transformative conversation about dementia care, innovation, and support—shaping the future for those living with dementia and their caregivers.
