Description
Like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Kit Armstrong started his career as a child prodigy at a very early age. The young American pianist of British-Taiwanese parentage is a renowned interpreter of Mozart's Sonatas and was acclaimed as “Artiste étoile” at the Würzburger Mozartfest, in 2016 and is an ideal interpreter for Mozart's Piano Concert No. 20. Johannes Brahms, also a celebrated piano virtuoso of his time, highly appreciated this Mozart-concerto and even wrote a cadenza for it. Brahms's Symphony Nr. 2 it was enthusiastically received by the audience at its première, in 1877, and has remained one of his most cherished works, ever since. With a transparent approach, British conductor Alexander Shelley avoids musical heaviness and illuminates the sublime architecture of Brahms's music.
The InClassica Malta International Music Festival is organised by the European Foundation for Support of Culture (EUFSC), led by Konstantin Ishkhanov, in collaboration with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO).
