Description

Kinemastik International Short Film Festival celebrates the 20th anniversary. 
A selection of short films from all over the world, curated by Emma Mattei will be shown on a large cinema screen so large, it can be seen from space.
A music event will follow the screenings on each night. Children's Short Film Festival will be published as a separate event and it will take place on Sunday, 28th July 2024.

Doors open 19:30 h

We look forward to welcoming you the beautiful gardens for a relaxing sundown. Bar will be open, and we’ll curate a soundtrack for you to end the week the right way.

20:45-21:00 Let the films commence.

We’ll have roughly two halves of 65mins of a carefully selected film programme.

Following the films we’re excited to introduce you to ACCLA, channeled by Adrian Camilleri, an anthropologist, filmmaker and artist based in Malta. ACCLA serves as a medium for the exploration of sound to conjure a world of digital, spiritual and ancestral imagery.
Next up is long time Kinemastik kousin Capitol K, giving us our first performance in four years! Francesca Mangion is going to seal the deal with a DJ set after. We’d like to advise you to save some energy for Saturday but …

Italians Do It Better label founder and producer, Johnny Jewel will perform a live audiovisual performance in front of the main screen, journeying through his past works and film and TV scores, which have included contributions to director Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive and David Lynch’s Twin Peaks. After the performance comes the party with DJ sets from Italians Do It Better label president and flagship artist Desire, plus our resident party starter Dean Wengrow and guest DJ from Egypt, Hassan Abou Alam.
