Welcome to this musical journey through the time and history of Malta, an island that, over the centuries, has represented much more than just a geographical strategic point in the heart of the Mediterranean. Entitled "Shipwrecks and Victories", this vocal concert celebrates Malta as a crossroads of cultures, the scene of battles, and a symbol of rebirth and resistance.

Description

This concert is a tribute to the stories of passage and loss, of hope and faith. The entire concert is permeated by the sense of the sacred, which embodies the human aspiration to connect with the divine and to express the deepest spiritual emotions.

In early vocal music, the sacred manifests itself through the purity of the human voice, and even in modern times this mode of expression continues to be explored and reinterpreted. Many contemporary composers choose to blend traditional elements with stylistic innovations, using dissonances, unusual rhythmic structures, and different cultural influences to create new expressions of the sacred.

The KorMalta ensemble will lead you from the musical cue of an ancient chivalric motto to the sound research of some contemporary Maltese composers, reminding us that every end can be a new beginning, and that every battle, if faced with courage, can turn into a song of victory. An epic adventure, where every note and every word is a tribute to Malta's indomitable history and its eternal spirit.
