Description

Festivals Malta on behalf of the National Festivities Committee will be holding the annual Independence Day Concert on the 21st day of September, 2024 at 8pm at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta. This year, the concert is being held in commemoration of the 60th anniversary from Independence Day.
 
The concert will be taking place at Republic Hall at the Mediterranean Conference Centre and is open to the public.
 
The concert starts at 8pm with the participation of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Mro Michael Laus and the participation of mezzo soprano Marvic Monreal. The programme performed on the night will be as follows:

Camille Saint-Saens: Mon cœur s’ouvre a` ta voix (Samson et Dalilah)
Ludwig van Beethoven: King Stephen, Overture, Op. 117                 
Alexander Vella Gregory: Rhythmii vitae                                            
Augustin Lara: Granada
Johannes Brahms : St Anthony Variations                                          
Georges Bizet : Chanson Boheme (Carmen)
Charles Camilleri: Mediterranean Dances   
 
This concert is being held under the patronage of Her Excellency The President of Malta.
